Can someone help in some tips / tricks to feeding the more shy fish that either hide or reside at the lower levels of the tank ??

I have a FoxFace that has been in the tank for 5 days now, and its still very shy when the tank is approached, I also have 3 chromis that will absolutely clean the food before it gets close to the bottom area. I have hung some red sea weed on a clip which the foxface will eat and the chromis don't. I'm just concerned that the FF is not getting a proper diet on sea weed alone.

    Thanks !!

The FF will also eat broccoli too and I don't think the chromis will. When he gets comfortable with the new tank he will eat more. Mine is a hog when it comes to feeding time. Also make sure if you have kids that they or others are not pecking on the glass because that will make them skittish when you come around.

He will soon learn that you are the bringer of food and will follow you around the tank.

Well this is what I do:
I shut off all my powerhead/filters etc to cut all flow. Take some frozen food and suck it up with a dropper/turkey baster (something like that). Then I spot about where the shy fish are. Just dump a little bit of food into the tank for the rest of the fish, then while they are distracted eating that, shoot a little food with the dropper behind the rockwork about where the shy fish is. They will be able to peck at those while the other fish go nuts somewhere else. This is how I feed my angel and mandarin, as they wont come out and eat with the rest of my fish either.

how often do you feed broccoli ? I take it its more to graze on and pass the time as little nutritional value? Will it disturb the water chemistry if left in for long peroids ?

I use pellets that even my purple lobster will be able to get to at the bottom.

Basically you want to have something in there for him to graze on at all times. When you give him something that is dead (broccoli/algae strips) you should change it every 24 hours. Personally I like to put live macro algaes in for my tang. The advantage of using live is that you can leave it in there until it is all gone and it will not affect your water chemistry. In fact even while feeding your fish it will be working to improve water quality.

If you have a refugium see if you can get your FF to eat some of your macro algae. Also if you take it out of your refugium you are not adding nutrients to the tank, you are recycling.
