I was putting a 1/4 of a chunk of mysis shrimp in a glass and add tank water to thaw. Things were fine until we got a new dishwasher. Are paper cups safe to use or should I have a dedicated glass?

I would use a brine shrimp net and thoroughly rinse frozen foods.:)
Any clean food safe container is fine though.

I feed my tank both brime shrimp and mystic shrimp. I usually rinse them and put them in a turkey baster and add tank water. I let the tank water thaw the food out and then feed it to my fish. My clownfish love it!

Use Dr. G's frozen food and you won't need to thaw;)

I don't usually throw in unthawed unless I'm to lazy. what I do to wash my frozen is take a filter sock material and put it over a small container. throw the frozen in a cup and let it thaw out in it. then I throw said thawed out frozen on the the contraption and BAM thawed food. I usually just wash it off with RODI to get the food off the material and it'll just slide straight off into what you're gonna use. best way to reduce phosphates and unwanted stuff.

Dr G's frozen foods I buy specifies that thawing there food will waste vitamins, ect. Most frozen foods must be rinsed due to excess and unwanted nutrients but Dr. G's and some others dont. I thaw at room temperature then feed with a plastic spoon.

Rod's is what I use and you don't have to rinse it. From what I've heard Larry's Reef Frenzy doesn't need to be rinsed either. I you want to clean a glass, I've heard of people using those little tiny disposable paper cups that fast food restaurants sometimes use for ketchup.
