1x/week - I usually feed either Sat night or Sunday early morning. Either way I wait until the lights are off for a while and some of the feeder tenticles of the chalice and favia are extended.

Feeding at night also eliminates fighting with the fish/shrimp to NOT eat what I am feed the corals.

I turn all pumps/powerheads off for a full hour while feeding.

When feeding normal day-to-day fish food - leave the skimmer on.

But when you are feeding the corals you will have to shut down your water circulation, effectively killing the feed to the skimmer - so even if it was running, chances are it's running in higher water than normal and will overflow.
If it is a HOB skimmer, it should be killed to eliminate water flow during feeding(of corals) - leave on when feeding fish.

Turn everything off, and just leave my powerheads on. Natural circulation brings the food around to all of the colonies around the tank, I do one general area spot feed and let the circulation do the rest. I also do a normal feeding to the fish so I don't have the issue of my shrimp stealing food from the corals.
