How often should i feed. I have been feeding twice a day (morning and night) and only what they eat in 2min and net out the leftovers. I have been reading and seen some people only feed every 2 to 3 days I think that's crazy. I do switch from frozen food and dry flakes.

I have fed all my tanks over the years, fish only and fish and reef, once a day light feeding and never had an issue.

It really all depends on what you keep. For instance, if you feed deepwater anthias once a day, there's a good chance it will starve. If you have a baby angel or tang, the same thing. Blue/Green Chromis...starve. That's why it's hard for me to make a blanket statement on this matter.

A few species like anthias require more frequent multiple daily feedings for maximum health as they have rocket-metabolisms.

Other than that - you will see recommendations for feeding that vary greatly. I would stray away from thinking that underfeeding will give you a LNS - better to keep the fish well fed than to starve them while thinking you are keeping the tank "lean and mean".

I personally feed at least once per day. Many days I'll feed frozen and offer a nori sheet or frozen and later on offer some flakes.

On weekends they tend to get more food as I am around more and like to watch them feed!
