    just set up my tank, 29 galon. i havent had a tank set up for bout maybe ayear now and i forget alot. so i need some help ill post pictures soon. first off how long should i wait before adding sand rock fish etc. if people could point me in the right way it would help alot

    You can add the sand and rock to the tank and even cycle it with it in. But for fish you need to wait till your cycle is done usually takes around a month or so, might be a little different depending on each tank. Also instead of using fish to cycle the tank go fishless and just use some peel and eat shrimp from the grocery store it does the same job but doesnt kill or harm fish , or you dont end up with fish you may not want.

    question about my overflow box, i need a siphon going from that to thetank right ? lol dont judge me haha its been along time

    patience is key at the start IME
    I waited 10 weeks before making any introductions on my set up after using live rock and the added shrimp for bacteria food
    and then it was half a dozen snails when I did start adding just to ensure tank was ready for fish

    you would have a syphon from the overflow box going to a sump
    and a pump in the sump , sending water back to the tank
