Hey guys, back with another update. Last night my little cousins were running around the living room jumping, and the platform fell down for the third time. Couldnt stand it anymore so I bought some epoxy and wedged it between the rocks. Sturdier than before. While browsing the LFS, I found a candy pistol for my yashia.

They both had a little stand off when they first met, now the pistol is gone somewhere in the tank. Hopefully they will find each other soon.
    Enjoy!

I had a bunch of green algae growing in my tank, but cutting back on the feeding helps a lot. Tank looks awesome!

When you are acclimating your new fish, what are you doing and for how long?

Thanks JupiterSailfish. When I acclimate, I let the fish float in the bag for 10-20 mins in my sump because its dark (no lighting), during that time, I set up a bucket and the dripper with tubing. After the float, I just drip acclimate for 3-5 hours. After the dripping, I let the bag float in the tank to temperature acclimate for around 10 mins.

Be sure to have your lighting off because all the fish are away sleeping and it wouldnt bother the new addition and in a way, it seems less stressful with the fully blasting lights

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Well I have a week break from school and decided that I should update you guys with my tank. Its been slowly going downhill, but I manage to keep it stable and bring it back up again. Here are some pics of the tank now.

I posted a few weeks ago about my SPS receding. I lost both my monticaps but the rest are doing extraordinarily well. They all have came back and have covered the areas that were receding. The cause of it was my test kits were out of date and all my readings were out of wack. Ammonia was at .025 and nitrates were at 20. But strangely the SPS managed to come back. The undata and one of the other SPS forgot its name were knocked down by my turbos and lost deep in the rock work, so they are probably goners now too. I lost my blackcap basslet, true percula, 2 cleaner shrimps and 3 chromis.

After all the lost, I didnt want to lose anymore and decided to bring the tank back. I got rid of the dinoflagellets and the cyano bacteria that was taking over the sandbed. I also changed the 45g tubawear wet&dry/sump to a 40 AGA. Been doing weekly water changes to lower the ammonia and nitrates.

Let me know what you guys think, any comments or suggestions are appreciated.
    Have a nice Thanksgiving.
