    It is much more sturdier than that. Its more like a tree branch than a lettuce leaf. + I have a yellow tang thats not interested in it :)

    Interesing, I have the same thing growing in mine. I cannot figure out what it is. Its like a white twig with red fuzz. It bends like a tree twig would too.

    you can not tell from any of those pics what kind of algae they are. You would need a sharp close-up. All you can say is the red stuff is red alage, the other two could be any of them, red, brown or green algae

    serotonin, yes i think that that is the same as the stuff i have in my tank. Tubular thicket algae, i assume that this is good? thanks

    I agree the white fingers would be foraminiferans but in that pic where you named it try again how big is that critter? It looks like it might be some type of sponge. I wouldnt say its any in the link im posting but could be some type of tree sponge.

    Hi Karlas, the picture that serotonin posted is a picture of my red algae. I had tp special order it. Its the size of a baseball and they grow very slow. Its a hard algae to keep, as I'm having a hard time just to keep it alive. They also come in purple.
