Ok, I have been fighting bryopsis since nearly the beginning of my tank. It came in on a coral frag, if only I knew what it was then! Well I have tried everything except for that product called AlgaeX. Im not sure what I want to do, either use this product to see if it works, it is supposed to, or break my tank down and start again. I would like to see what you guys would recommend, either using the product or starting over by nuking the tank.

Also, If I were to nuke the tank, I would like to save my corals and some fish, my sixline, clown and yellow tail and watchman. I was thinking about getting a 20gal long and putting my corals and fish in there while I nuked my tank. I just wanted to know if people had any advice on this too. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'd still quarantine the corals/fish you want but I've read good and bad about algaex, no personal experience with it though

Have you tried raising your magnesium levels? If you're going to nuke the tank, I'd get rid of the corals. All it takes is one spore to start your problems over again.

I was really hard to do , I hated to do it but I nuked my tank 2 weeks ago I bleached my rock I threw out a lot of coral if i couldn't remove it from rock I only saved my fish and any frags I could trim I took apart my overflow and everthing I had been fighting Bryopsis since I set this tank up and I was going to do it all the way or quit all together it really sucks but I think you will be glad that you do it . I didn't think the chemical route to kill it was going to be a permanent solution.

That's what I was thinking, plus, whenever I upgrade I was going to do it and I thought I mine as well do it now so that all the corals haven't grown as much by then.
Crabby Jim, what are your frags and fish in right now?

I can not grasp the idea of destroying a tank (or close to it) just to rid it from Hair. There are many options; refugiums, display tank macro algae (Halimeda) Algone and Phosphate reactor. I did the reactor and Halimeda and it worked. Took about 2 weeks to rid 90% of the hair and 3 weeks to eliminate all of it.

The "hair" in question is a bit different than derbesia.
