Just got back from a hockey game and my Clownfish are fighting. They've been in there about a week together and they're the only fish. They were together in the tank at my LFS and seemed fine. Any thoughts as to what the aggression may be from?

they are establishing dominance. this could be easy or hard depending on the type of clowns they are and there sizes.

They're about the same size and I believe they're percs. Is one of em gonna die?

with percs I doubt one would die, but it is possible.
If one eventually seems to have trouble swimming I would separate them, other then that I would let them work it out.

I had two clowns, one an oc,full stripe, and the other oc,split stripe.....they were fine for 2 months, and the full stripe started beating the life out of the other, for 2 weeks I tried to separate them, but every time the full would go after the split, until I had to take the full back to the LFS and get a trade. They told me that the larger female was likely trying to establish a mate and didn't especially like the one that I "Provided", although I didn't "PROVIDE" a mate for the fish, that's essentially what you do when you place two same species together in a cage.........sorry for the analogy, but it is what it is.

I'm just mad/worried/cursed with bad luck cause I had two black clowns before and they were fantastic. Never had issue with anything, territory nothing. They slept together, always swam together, followed me around when I was at the tank, just Full of personality.

I guess I just want them back... :(

If it helps, When I talked to my LFS, and told them of the beating my first fish was receiving from my newly purchased full bar, they took it back and traded me for a full bar exactly the size of my first, and since then, they have been the best of friends....if it helps.....
