I have had my conch for a couple of months and he's very active. The last couple days he has burried him self under the sand like when he sleeps but he isn't coming out. I see his eyes up so I know there's life but this morning he's so far in the sand I can't see it at all. Anyone know what's going on???

Not enough food? I really have no idea but I think they need a lot of food.

Yeah I'm not sure. I've never had to supplement specifically for the conch so I just hope it's ok!

I wonder if sinking food would help. Check your params to see if they have changed significantly specially your SG.

I have had fighting conchs disappear in my tanks for a week or two. I don't know where they are but I don't worry about it. They go back to eating and keeping the sand (and rocks sometimes) clean.

+1 to this - ours has done this from time to time - but just as long as you still see an eye poking out - it's likely just fine.

just got my firsh fighting conch from ReefCleaners not too long ago. I also noticed mine buries itself in the sand for days sometimes. At first it was all over the tank, but today it dissapeared. Like inwall I'm not worried about it, I'm sure it's fine & yours is also.

Mime would disappear as well. I didn't think there was anywhere for him to hide he was so big after 6 years. They could hardly pull their shells around! I lost him in a move.... forgot him in a bucket.

    Every move you learn something.

Yeah I hope so. I just got home and he is nowhere! Can't see his eyes anymore so I'll just cross my fingers. In going to test the water now and make sure nothing is ascue!
