Fighting conch

    Is ther a commonly available type that grows large (by snail standards-like maybe over 4 or 5 inches) I went to my providerand looked at his tank and he had a very large fighting conch
    his eyes were awesome thhey were huge haha

    Fighting conchs will get that big. Queen conchs will get even larger.

    Yeah, that's a really big fighting conch, they don't get much bigger than that. There are a handful that get bigger. There are three spider conch species that will get larger than that, and in addition to the Pink (Queen) Conch, there are:

    Peruvian Conch (over 8")
    Lobatus (Lobatus) peruvianus

    Giant Eastern Pacific Conch (almost 10")
    Lobatus (Latiolais) galeatus

    Milk Conch (about 9")
    Lobatus (Macrostrombus) costatus costatus

    Goliath Conch (over 15")
    Lobatus (Titanostrombus) goliath

    There are a couple of deep-water Pacific conchs that may get larger, also, but I don't know how they'd fare in an aquarium (S. thersites and S. latissimus), or even if they ever show up for sale.
