I got this from a friend who couldn't get it happy enough to open. So I took it thinking his params were whack. It has little holes all over the are black. I hope I didn't get a coral eating hitchhiker with the rock.
All my params are great have healthy sps and lps just not this guy. I cut a corner off the didn't have holes and its starting to grow. Should I frag it up? What is it. I'll try to post pic but I'm on my phone so no guarantees.

Look for small cream colored nudibranchs.

Pics? could be a number of things, water quality and parameters can cause leathers to get holly. I had a heater fail on vacation and the tank was below 60deg and a toadstool this. good thing is it healed on it's own within a few weeks though. Also, lack of flow, if detritus can settles. Nudibranchs are also a common culprit.

Is this a yellow fiji leather? If so, from the pics it looks pretty pale.. The yellows do often seem to just rot away though if that's the case. I think from the location we can rule out flow and detritus. So, I'd say it doesn't like some other parameter or nudis. Do you see any little tiny bugs on it, you may need to catch them at night with a flashlight. Also, what are your parameters?

Figi yellows are usually a vibrant distinct yellow. Perhaps that one was not maintained under good lighting. IME Figi yellows is one of the few soft corals that does better under intense lighting.

As far as nudibranchs go, look at night and in the areas around the holes.

I found some information about mushrooms being toxic to yellow fiji, and their was a bunch of mushrooms on the same rock, even touching it. So I busted the rock and separated them. When I did I found about 30 tiny dark purple worms, did a quick fw rinse and separated them. Hopefully I solved my problem.
