I've never had a mini cycle, but many people have found thier fish have bounced back well.

Took the flashlight again and saw the filefish laying on the sand in the back corner. Panic struck me, and I tried to reach her, but couldn't, so I tossed a bit of sand on her (was all I could do) but she didn't move. And that confirmed my belief that it passed away. I went to grab it, and it wasn't moving, but then twitched, came back to life, and swam into the rockwork.

I'm sooo worried that the goby is attacking it where I can't see

It came out to swim, then started swimming drunkenly and got stuck onto a powerhead, so I nudged it off. Then it drunkenly swam away. What do I do?! :(

It sort of sounds like swim bladder disease

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
In my experience Fire Fish do poorly with declines in water quality. I have found them to be fragile during transport and acclimation.

Prime and water changes are your friend during transfers.

Sorry for the loss, but not unusual.

I bet you ammonia is creeping up. It sucks, but theres not alot you can do without having things ready. Petsmart/PetCo should still be open tonight.

There's a bylaw in my city preventing any store from being open 24/7. I'm going to try feeding it a pea
