Hey guys, Zero here again with another problem, mostly sharing a slightly stressful experience I just had...

    Meet my matted filefish.

He's a good citizen.. Doesn't nip at snails (I got him out of that habit), is very social, and very very curious.

Last time I aquascaped (left the fish in the tank), he would swim closer to see what was going on. All was fine on that day; he moved when I was putting the rocks down.

I was looking for him today, and I couldn't see him right away, so I looked in all the holes and hiding spots in my rock because he loves to explore.

However, today's area of exploration was ... my corner overflow.

I was shocked to see him. There... I panicked (just a little) and quickly put a net to cover the PVC that goes from the DT to the sump. I managed to get him out of there in a short amount of time, but he did give me a good scare.

    Here's him mid-adventure

And here's what my overflow area looks like

I doubt having a lid would have helped in this situation, seeing as how the jump was a small one and the fish is very slim.. But all is well :)

Very nice specimen, but you should still invest in some type of cover.

I love filefish! They almost look a little prehistoric and swim kind of like triggers.....I had one for quite some time before my crash - model citizen and also pretty hardy it seemed. so glad yours was ok.....hopefully he learned not to go there again :)
