My Brother has a algae/coral only tank could he put my 2 fish in there while i get mine drilled or will that mess up his tank?
And my Brothers Father in law can drill the holes for me,
what do you suggest for sump and refug size for a 90?

I have lots of water movement but when some of the pumps stop for feeding time this is when i see the film

Ok i think i may have come up with an alternative to drilling as noone wants to do this with me not having the funds if a new tank needs to be bought incase of accidently breaking it while drilling. What about a corner overflow built in using marine silicone, and then doing the siphon down to a sump/refug.? would this work? And then the next question is who on here or where on here could i find an awsome set-up for building a sump/refuge?

P/M me its nothing to it you won't be the first to drill a tank..I have walked so many here on how to do it I can't even recall now . I have the bit out on loan now so if you are in a rush ? you'll have to get a bit the thicker the glass the easier and faster the drilling ..

I also have a 90g and I have a 30g sump, but I would go as big as you can. Since you have the advantage of empting your DT, you should get a good sump-refugium combo. This is the one that Im going to install real soon. Luna

You basically have three choices where to drill the holes. Left, center or right side of tank. Depending on where your planning to place your tank is where you should drill the holes. You dont want drill the holes on the side of the tank that faces the wall, you want to have access to the over flow. Luna

Then you can drill either on the left or the right side of the tank. Luna

For the most part, tanks are usually drill at the bottom. One hole is drilled to fit a 1" bulkhead and the other is drilled to fit a 3/4" bulkhead. Remember that the bulkheads come in different sizes that drains/returns at different GPH. Luna
