filter for nano

    do i need a filter on my nano if i have LR and a good PS(bak pak 2r+). to remove detritus stuff floating in my tank i have a sponge on my maxi jet that i clean every other day. if i need a filter what would be a good choice? thanks in advance for the input.

    I run my 30 with just the Bak Pak. No problems at all.

    You should be ok with just the biological fitration and occassionally employing chemical filtration such as carbon.
    Though, I can not stress the importance of incorporating a skimmer into the equation, you can have a successful reef tank without one... I hav ebeen experimenting with that theory for over 4 months now on my small tank with good results, plus my local pet shop has a nano tank with no skimming either.

    I have a 5.5 with only biological filtration.. I did have a nano cube 12 dx with only a protein skimmer and a filter sock where the water dumped into my sump.. Water stayed pretty steady....
