    Hi all

I have just purchased a second hand tank and I am just wondering about the trickle filter system that is currently set up. I have read alot about people replacing the bio balls and setting up a DSB to reduce nitrate levels. My question is would it be hard to convert the current trickle filter to a DSB?
The filter currently consists of bioballs, queens protein skimmer, a couple of pumps and a nitrate reactor (Aqua Medic Nitratreductor 400). How would I go about converting it? (i am unable to find any instructions on how to do this, so any infomations/drawings would be great). I have attached a couple of pictures of the trickle filter which the previous owner had running. I am currently cleaning everything and trying to start fresh so any advice on what to do would be great.

    Thanks

I think it is a Refugium that im after. Im not sure what the one in the link is but that looks alot more complicated ;D

Is it possible to adjust my wet and dry filter to include a refugium? how would this be done?

I have attached a photo of a sump that has a Deep Sand Bed as a filter if that helps with my query.
