filter media question

    ok the other day i sent my wife to the lfs to get some phosphate remover for my nextreef reactor and she brought back fluval clearmax. my question is can i use this in my reactor if i just open the filter bags it comes in and pour it in the reactor?

    yeh, that'll work. but why not keep them in the pouches for easier maintenance?

    if i keep them in the pouches it will still work in the reactor?

    yup. the pouches are designed to work in enclosed canister filters, which is basically what your reactor is. It passes water through whatever media you put in there under pressure, same concept as a canister filter

    got them in the reactor and really like how easy clean up will be. thanks for the help

    they will still work left in the bags but it will work much better when removed and put in your reactor as it was designed for...you will get channeling using the bags in a reactor like yours....good luck
