Filter sock or filter pad?

    thats what i have the cloth type. i have read they filter more, and never tried the mesh to see if it was true. may try it now. turning the cloth inside out to clean is a nasty job. i have to put my hands into the bag while its still wet to do it :(

    I still have the same amount of junk in my mesh sock, I just quickly rinse it off in the sink and replace back into the tank.

    Buy one and try it, you will never go back.

    i agree, filter sock is the way to go. not sure if this has been stated but when you take out a filter pad it releases a bunch of junk into your tank. filter sock does't do that.

    I agree and also use brs filter socks they work great. I use them to rinse my gfo and carbon too.

    Filter sock . I have to put in my sump for a couple hours before turning my skimmer back on . I wash with bleach. Then I wash with strait water . Still sends my skimmer crazy if I turn it on right away after a filter sock change
