    I use socks as well and a sponge in the baffle. I rinse mine weekly. My question is how often do you guys rinse out the sponge?

    I have 8 7 x 14 200 micron socks with the plastic rings for my FOWLR system. They filter great and keep bubbles and turbulence down in the sump. I wash them with a little bleach and let them completely air dry before using. An important lesson that I learned was to wash them on gentle. I tore up a whole load of socks on the medium cycle.
