filtering surface?

    I have an open tank and was wondering how people filter the surface of the water? i'm getting dust and alittle dog hair but its not that bad. its that fact that i can see the stuff and others dont.

    I have a surface skimming box attached to my HOB skimmer
    and additionally I do focus a large percentage of my water movement along the water surface, which keeps the water churned up and nothing settles on the surface there

    +1...point a powerhead to the surface toward your overflow. Just enough to get the waterflow headed that way. It will clear up in no time.
