    FINALLY!

    ok people heres the deal, just bought the red sea prism skimmer on ebay for 45 dollars.

    AND!


    seabass1 (give him all the karma in the world people) has not one but TWO MH bulbs that he will GIVE to me because he upgraded his lighting. they are ushio (he informed me they are not the best but not the worst) 150 double ended, 10k bulbs. these are the two things that i needed for my tank horribly, and soon i will have them.

    one is coming from texas the other from california. both priority, so, which do you think will get here first???

    lol ok. well my parents want me to pay them the 35 for the skimmer. then i can go buy corals. hope i get more than 35 dollars for my bday!!!

    It will take you a bit of time to learn how to dial in that skimmer. Let it run for several days (break in period) before even trying to adjust it

    There's a black butterfly valve on the water input tube. You basically open and close this by a small amount to control how wet or dry you're skimming. A small adjustment changes the skimmer a lot so you'll want to have the neck broken in before even attempting this.

    so let it run a week then try and fiddle with it? also how do i know that it is at its optimum skimming?

    For a small tank, the red sea works pretty well actually.

    ive heard it doesnt work well on anything over 40 but is made fro up to 100. but i dont plan on upgrading much and if i do then ill use it on my ten gallon.
