    Congrats! You're gonna love him!

Just remember everyone, that these have a more potent venom than other guys. This guy falls into the group of Stingfish. People like to compare a lion/scorp sting to a bee sting.... it's not. How many people have had general complications from a bee sting..... other than those people who a allergic? With a lion/scorp sting you can get infections, necrosis, general systemic changes. It's not the same, although the mild stings may "feel" like "just a bee sting".

Frank Marini has a good write up in his book. Greg and I are also putting a little something together with pictures.

If you get "hit", immerse the affected extremity in hot water up to 115F for 30-90 minutes. You'll find some people say not to do this.... they're afraid you are going to burn yourself with their recommendation. But it is the only appropriate recommendation to make, IMO. You'll have to be careful as well, that little fragments of the spine didn't break off within.

You'll have to be more careful in a smaller tank because there won't be much room for you and him. These guys may be high on the potency list, but they are not very high on the movement list. This decreases your odds of getting hit when compared to, say, a lion.

When doing tank maintenance, complete all the "up high" stuff first... don't work from top to bottom. When you get to the bottom, do all the things around him while leaving him in place. Wait until another day to finish the area he is sitting in. If you shuffle him out of the way, he may not be too pleased. And at any moments notice, he could start to shoot (swim erratically and unpredictably) around the tank. You don't want this with your hand in the water.

If he turns back on to you, drops his head and flares.... get out!

    NOT HAPPY!

While I love your choice and congratulate you, it will be a beautiful addition to your tank. My favorite fish in Incognito's tanks is the Weedy Scorpion-fish! I think its one of the coolest fish I have ever seen.

But I must be honest, the reason I love it is my wife has fallen head over heals in love with it! She has NEVER shown even the smallest interest in my tanks until she saw that fish and a few of the others on Incognito's website! She has been asking me since Christmas if we could set up a tank for a few of the fish those fish so I guess I am just going to have to get my butt in gear huh!

I am SO excited over everyone's interest. These fish are so rarely kept, there's not that much info out there.

When a behavior occurs, there's not a big data base to see if something is normal or not. Like when I had 2 Inimicus together and saw fin behaviours... I had no one to ask if they had ever seen it before and what they thought it meant. I was dying to know if it was pairing behaviour. With more people keeping them, we'll have more access to this data. As the scorp community increases, so will our knowledge!!!! Yes, I'm excited.

I'm curious if MSC's is going to be as grumpy as mine. Mine is grumpy and another guy said his was grumpy. I have a second one that I bought sick to see if I can turn him around. I try not to bother him too much, so I'm unsure of his temperament at this point.

    So much to learn!!!!!
