Finally got a fish!!!

Thanks everyone! Boy, this fish sure is an attention hog! We got really lucky! No matter where we look in the tank, there it is, looking back. I don't see any yellow coloration at all, so I guess I'll keep calling it a him.

 

WTG Sushi. those things can dig and dig and then dig some more. great sifters.. I really need to get one but not sure if my pink spot will tolerate. also, it seems as if cats prefer to go after white fish. they must see them better. our old cat (she is 7 or 8 ) used to always be interested in teh diamond gobies we put in the tank. would only go after them. I swear she harrassed a few out of the tank! our new kitten seems to go after the Pyramid butterfly alot more than any of the other fish.

 

Well, got up this morning and the fish was dead .
I'm guessing it was probably a long, hungry couple of weeks at the fish store before I got him, and it was probably too late by the time I started beefing him up. I saw him eat at the store, but they didn't seem to put much in there. He ate like crazy last night (and all nights before), but he was only sleeping every other day & was doing a lot of "pacing" up and down the glass from the sand to the surface. I was afraid he was going to jump, but instead I found him dead on his back in the sand. Heck, the CuC hadn't even found him yet.

Very disappointing, as I still see in my mind's eye the first time I saw him peep at me over a rock at the store. I knew I wanted him then, he was such a cute little guy.

 

Awwww so sad.
I hope the next one is healthier.

Thanks y'all. I'm pretty sad about it, even though he didn't even make it a week.

Not sure what I'll get next time, or when. It seems, unless I mail order, that I pick fish like I pick cats & dogs (or they pick me). I can be in a room full but only one gets my attention. Makes it harder when they don't make it.
