Just wondering, if its on the back, wouldn't it be hard to scratch? I just left mine as the flat black paint and it has been fine for a year and a half now. Should be fine. But you could use a clear coat if you want piece of mind.

i mean i put a hob filter on the back and my overflow? those might move around and scratch it or when moving it into the house it could scratch?

Yeah you could clear it then if you'd be more comfortable. I do have an overflow that I remove for periodic cleaning and have yet to have problems, but if you are willing to do the extra work it certainly can't hurt. I would just use a clear coat though, as I am sure that that wouldn't cause problems later on as it is made to cover paint and protect it.
