I was given an already established 75 gallon FOWSFPR (fish only with stupid fake painted rock) aquarium about 2 years ago, and never really did anything with it, just kept it going the way it was. I hated it; it had a canister filter, a crappy PC light, and ugly fake rock. The fish were several years old and a heater malfunctioning while I was away killed them off, so I decided to redo the tank the way I wanted it.

It's been up for about a month now; I was able to use the sand and water from before so I didn't really have to cycle. I just got everything together and drilled and plumbed it while the water sat in 33 gallon trash cans. Installed a glass holes overflow with a return on each side of the tank, put a Nova pro 6 bulb I got used over it, and have a 20L as my sump underneath. I'm still running the canister filter, but only because the impeller for the pump for my Turboflotor Multi I got used for 40 bucks isn't here yet.

I know I should have waited, but I have 3 firefish, a bicolor blenny, some green star polyps, and a small eagle eye zoa colony already in it. The coral seems to be doing great so far (fingers crossed). I'm trying to be patient and wait for my rock to turn live before I add anything else.

I'm using tap water atm, I just can't justify buying an RO unit yet, not with everything doing just fine with tap, but I'm planning on getting one soon and setting up the ATO.

I've been lurking for a few weeks now, just figured I'd introduce myself before I popped up and started asking a ton of questions. I guess the biggest thing so far is that it seems.... too easy? All my params are good. Well my nitrate isn't quite zero, but I feel like 10 isn't that bad. I'm just kind of waiting for the tank to crash or something horrible, so if I've missed something someone please point it out to me.

Oh here's a shot of the tank, only one I have so far.

I like the aqua scape. What kind of rock is that, and did you use epoxy or anything to get it the way you wanted it?

It's 100lbs of reefcleaners rock. I assembled it dry, out of the tank with epoxy, super glue, and acrylic rods for the part on the far left, and lifted the three formations into the tank. It seriously took me like 2 weeks of moving rock around on a cutout the size of the tank to figure out how I wanted it. Glad you guys like it.
