Hey all you all might know me or might now. Well I am moving away from my 55gal to a 93 RR cube. I love the way it will fit the corner I am putting it in. First before the build really takes off I know the basics I want then I am going to have to pull the knowledge of the amazing people on 3reef to help with the rest.

Heres the start of what I am building. Of course the 93 gal cube. This will be a basement sump setup as I want to do. I am going am going to be running kalk water in a ATO system. I am thinking of getting the storm and its ATO pal. The Lighting will be a DIY from rapidled. OH and the sump is my old 55 gal 4ft long. Will have a refugium in it as well.

What I need help with is do I NEED a calc reactor or can I 2 part dose like the BRS auto dose things. What kind of Skimmer for this system? What do I do for follow? I was thinking 1 mp40 but not sure. What kind of controller would you recommend? I want to make this as automated as possible. Any other thoughts and advice welcome.

    Thanks all again,
    Pat McLean

PS: Pictures coming soon of the start!!!!!!

I use 2part and dosing pumps on my 210g sps stocked system with no problems. I love the simplicity of dosing. I would definitely get a neptune apex, for the money and features nothing can compete imo. I would look into one of those specials from Jon Warner on a skimmer. (warner marine, he's selling some new skimmers cheap on his forum on this site)

I can't wait to see the build, your 55 will make a great sized sump for this system.

I would get 2 mp 10 to start with and if you need more flow add another mp 10, it will give you more flexibility in the flow and spread the flow around better in that dimension tank.

If you haven't bought an ATO yet, look into the Tunze osmolator, with about $40 in parts you can make it double as a auto water change system as well! (powerman has a thread on it) http://www.3reef.com/forums/i-made/my-tunze-osmaolator-automated-water-change-89115.html

Good luck with the build Hasek

I would like to suggest you read through a few of the threads in the chemistry forum for opinions on dosing versus reactors
The one below is a good example

other questions such as what skimmer etc , please ask them in the relevant forums, where hopefully you will get much more input
