I registered on 3reef about 8 months ago and when I was starting to design a small saltwater set up. Spent the next few months reading extensively and trying to glean as much knowledge as I could and finally took the plunge sometime around October. I ended up with a 29gal tank, 10 gal sump and a 7gal acrylic fuge on the back (more on that later).

Shockingly, its now six months later and with the exception of a little nascence algae, things are going well and I have a nice vibrant tank. Here are some pictures.

This is back in November right after I added a Percula Clown!

An image of the lighting we had. It was two T5 bulbs mounted in an old light fixture we stole from an attic. Since then we've crammed another two bulbs in bringing the lighting to 96W

This is sometime in January. Added a firefish, 3 shrimp, a CuC, a featherduster, chromie, lawnmower blenney, and some GSP and Xenia.

    Finally today!

Below are a few pics of the sump and refugium.

The sump works well although I do wish i had more room. The fuge is located behind the DT. I built it myself from acrylic sheet and am pretty happy. I wanted a system that would house cheato and have enough rubble in it for pods to flourish and be able to drift into the DT without passing through a pump. I did spring a leak about two months into the tank being filled but I was able to drain the fuge and apply silicone with no major problems. The layout would work great had I not undershot the specs on my return pump. As a result there is simply not enough flow through the system...

Thanks all for providing so much info on the forum. Any feedback or thoughts welcome. There is always another build on the way...
