Is fiberglass screen safe to use in a reef tank? I am constructing my own sump / fuge and I want to use it to ensure nothing goes swimming into the overflow or through pvc piping

I can tell you that fiberglass screening is perfectly safe, but I'm really not sure about finberglass. What is that, some kind of fiberglass alloy?? ;D

make sure you clean it with your finger often though. Don't let detritus accumulate on it.

Wow, that makes total sense now that I think about it! "Fin-Berglass"......definitely "fish" oriented.
So, where can I get some of this stuff? Do you have a link?
I'm not really interested in it as a filtering media, but I do have this dream of building a small fiberglass boat that our guinea pig can ride around on in the reef tank. Maybe teach him how to fish for Damsels or something, I dunno. At any rate, it sounds like this particular material would be ideal for this project. Any other help or ideas on this project would be greatly appreciated.
