I think i'm going to go with dead/dry sand for my tank. Pretty much people say that's "at your own risk". So im going to take the chance. I went to 3 different stores last night to try and find Fine White Sand. Ok that stuff like does not exsist... I live in the Sacramento, CA area does anyone know where I can find some?

You can find it, but Im slightly against it too. Having live sand while starting a tank is really benefitial. I did really fine crushed coral that was live. I like it. White sand would be nice though....

I have the fine white sand and I dont care for it to much.. My gobies love it cause they sift like crazy. But it tends to make the tank dirty cause they throw it around and it hits the powerheads. It is live sand from a lfs.

I had picked some up at petco. I added about 30 lbs of white to 70 lbs of live sand just to give it a little characters in areas.
