    ok the other day i was at a petco and they have a small section of saltwater fish and some times coral i saw this real nice leather finger coral i asked the guy about it and he said its been there a little bit over a year i know they dont really keep up with water changes and noticed the lights were regular florescent bulbs n-e-wayz he gave it to me for a steal , i have a jbj 28gallon hqi its been in there for 3 days still not open will it b ok?:confused::confused::confused::confused:

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Put it in a shaded area for a couple weeks.

    If they had it under regular lighting and you have something more intense it will most likely go into light shock. Like mentioned place it somewhere "shady" near the bottom. Once a week move it out more into the light and then slowly put it about mid level. It should be fine there.

    Finger leater's are tricky, when I got mine from my brother it was being taken over by some star polyps and it was severly wilted, it looked like a weeping willow tree with out any leafs. I did not see any polyps on it for months after I put it in my tank, I thought for sure it was not going to make it. Here are pcs of when I first got it in August '11 and now. Big difference! Don't be surprised if they will take a couple of weeks or even months before they start to grow! They are very hardy corals!
