I have a finger leather that has been in my 12 gallon tank for a few months now. It was all happy and all the polyps were extended and doing what it's supposed to do. Then they all retracted and it shed or peeled it's skin, which I understand to be normal. Then all the polyps came back, which again is normal. But now it's been peeling every few days for a few weeks now and it's getting that peeled skin all over my tank making it look like a mess.

Is it stressed? What's going on here?

It may need more flow. Leathers really like a lot of flow. With this being said, leathers can be pretty difficult in smaller tanks due to their "shedding"

My toadstool would shed often in my cube, at first it didn't do it and then it was almost a weekly thing. From what I understood it was happy and growing.
