I have a very large finger leather in my tank. It sheds it skin every once in a while. Is this bad for any other tank inhabitants? Does this shedding foul the water? Should I suction it out or just let the filter catch it?

If you can get it out, get it out. It's organic matter, so at a minimum it's going to break down into waste. I'm not sure if it's any worse than uneaten food, but if you can get it, may as well.

Ok, thanks. I only ask because my large finger leather is completely shedding right now so there is more than usual in the tank. usually it's just pieces, not the whole thing all at once.

I was just making sure it wasn't toxic or anything. I had read that leathers release toxins and didn't know if the shedded material was toxic

If you have a bunch of hermits, brittle stars, bristle worms etc... They will actually eat the shed. For the most part it's when you have soft coral with sps is when you need to be aware of toxins. But, yes, I do agree if you can, take the shed out, but if you cant get it all... All the other hidden creatures in the tank will eat it away.
