Does anyone have information on a fire damsel. I tried a search on the internet but I could not find much.

I want to know if it is aggressive or a good community fish. Any other info would be a bonus.

    Thanks.

I have looked around a bit and only found that they are typical Damsels with their moods. Also, I found that only the young have the nice red, it appears that they turn a brown as they get older.

Neoglyphidodon crossi is the scientific name if you didnt find that.

    \Good Luck

Well here is a new link that is a different looking fish
This may be the one you are looking for with info

    Flame Damselfish - Pomacentrus bankanensis

The other site showed a red fish called a flame damsel and said it changes colors with age. Oh well, who to believe.

I just saw it at the lfs and it was listed as a fire damsel. It was a very different looking damsel with its colors. As far as what it really is who knows because the LFS said it was a new fish they brought in and they did not know much about it. I will try to get a pic of one and post it.

I have had a few different kinds and the only Damsel I would stay away from is the Black and White 4 stripe.. Just a mean nasty fish..
Saltwater Aquarium Fish for Marine Aquariums: Four Stripe Damselfish

Just stay away from the ones labeled agressive. The other seem OK from my experience.

I am thinking of picking up another myself
