    fire shrimp

ive had one before and they are very cool they act as a cleaner yet they are very colorful..i used to feed mine meaty foods even small pellet food and it would eat it fine...only thing is they are very sensitive to water conditions acclimation is critical!!! salinity should also be at a low level meaning 1022-1024 no more no less.. the one i had i lost to a spike in salinity...so be careful if you decide to get one!;)

I have had my Fire Shrimp for 4 months now, he is awesome! I love that little guy...well he was little when I got him and has molted more times than I can count. I did the drip method acclimation, for about 1 1/2 hours (just to be sure, because I read how sensitive they are) Prior to getting my fish, I fed him periodically with Formula Two pellet food, or high quality marine flake. Now he always seems to catch some left overs.....
Maybe I am lucky with the one I got, but after a couple of weeks, he was out all the time....I only have a 20 gallon, so there are not many places he can hide without being seen, but he is always hanging upside down on a piece of LR, or jumping around finding food....now that I have my pair of clowns...he always eases up to them...and starts tickling them with is antenna...think he wants to clean them but they are not down with that quite yet. Maybe one day he will get lucky!
I really enjoy him, I called him Pierre...I am considering a 2nd...but I'm curious if the size difference will create tension between the two...my LFS normally only has smaller ones, the size I got him originally, but he must have almost doubled in size.....anyone have any incite on that?
To anyone considering purchasing one, I say go for it! They are great! :) And with my tank being so small...it adds a lot of color, to make up for the small number of fish Ill be able to keep.
