FireFish Compatibility???

I currently have a red firefish in my 55 gallon reef tank.


I would like to add a purple firefish.


Would there be compatibility issues with the two of them?

I also have 2 false clowns, a Sailfin Tang and a Diamond Goby.

Depends, I would guess that aggression would happen every once and a while and/or during feeding with minimal injuries. The tang and goby are not suited to this tank (Unless the goby is taking prepared foods)

 

I would only add two Fire Fish if you can add them at the same time and both at a young age. You might get lucky and they live in harmony but there is a very good chance they will fight to the death since one is already established.

I have had 3 at one time in a 28 gallon tank but all added at the same time, all very young fish.

 

I started with 4 all added at the same time. One got ate by an eel so I took the eel out and brought a new one home the very next day. They all would swim together but at night they'd go missing one by one.. Now there's only one.

 

I got the purple firefish yesterday and put him in the tank with the red and they seemd to get along fine.
