Firefish gobys

They should be social pretty much all the time with the lights on so if they are not coming out it's most likely a problem with being bullied.

I think that most people don't realize the requirements to keep these fish are different than other peaceful fish because of their ease of being picked on.
They are not difficult fish to keep but I think there requirements are overlooked sometimes and there is not enough good info (except in 3reef) in the trade to keep these fish happy.

I'm not saying anything against anyone here just that I have learned this through experience and would like to help others so they don't have to go down the same road I have in the past and have unhappy fish

 

Unless they are mated, you can't have more than one, as they are intolerant of each other. Expect to end up with no more than two after the end of it...

 

Yeah I think I learned a lesson, my two clownfish are super territorial and I think it upsets the Firefish... I just hope he can get food but, he is always in his home in the rock... He eats but, not as much as the clownfish do...
