Soooo... I added a magnificent foxface and my paired orange firefish decided to go on a honeymoon? Havn't seen them for five days. Everybody looked healthy and was acting normal until the add. Should I be concerned?

    50/50.

Fire Fish can hide for longer periods of time.

Fire Fish are also big jumpers.

If you have had the Fire Fish for awhile and he is fully acclimated I would be inclined to think he is hiding.

I have had them for awhile. My tank is also "wrasse-proof". Though I just did a walk of the parameter to check! Hope they come back out soon... I miss them :(

Day 8--- still no signs of the lil guys. I've been doing a lot of forum research and it sounds like they are capable of hiding for quite awhile. I remain hopeful and will keep y'all updated.

Saw one of them today.... 3 weeks since they disappeared. He looked alright though a lot leaner than he was when he left. I guess they are afraid of my foxface. I hope they get over it soon.

    Ahhh good.

Yeah I have had them hide for a long long time.

Another thing I have done on accident is remove a rock from the tank and looked over to see my fire fish flopping on the floor or in a bucket.

Foxfaces are notoriously "twitchy" fish.IME twitchy fish have a way of causing timid fish to suddenly feel threatened even if there is no signs of aggresion between them. Nervous energy is not usually a good thing which is why I stay away from Foxfaces .I had one for several years and it never seemed to calm down.:(

That's a good point that I have never thought about.
