    I am also curious about this as I would like to add another firsfish. I only have 1 right now but I also heard you should only keep 1 because they may fight if the are together. The problem with trying to add another is if they didnt get along I would have to take everything out of my tank.....again.(3rd time in a month)

    ok well im getting both red firefish if i am getting two. all im asking is will the fire fish thrive even though i will only have one in the tank?

    I only had one and he was very happy. He now resides in Jossmalo's tank (another 3reef member) and is still by himself. A very good community fish with a great personality.

    I kept my firefish with a yellow tail damsel and the two were best of buds. They even slept together for a time.
