    Nice looking start panbac2

from your other thread I noted you are going FOWLR in this set up
you have left plenty of swimming space with the rockwork there, which is good IMO

I'm thinking that I'm gonna add about ten pounds of live rock next week and letting it seed the rest of the base rock. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do after that...how long should it take to seed the base rock? after I have the base rock seeded, what do I do next?

gratz on making the move! you wont regret it :)

that could be the first actual ornament i've seen in a salt water tank, looks good tho. will look awesome covered in coralline.

i'm no pro but, after seeding the base rock you wait for the tank to cycle.
time will vary but i'm sure someone else can give you more direction.
could maybe add some raw shrimp meat now with the base rock to get some bacteria started?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I really like it, with the column piece, reminds me of Atlantis. Once it starts to get coralline on it, it's going to be very cool.

I can't tell you how many people have liked the greek columns. Hopefully when it has seeded it will look like it has been in the ocean for awhile...on a side note_One of the main reasons i have started this saltwater tank is, I am a huge fan of james bond and every sophisticated evil villain has a sweet saltwater tank. the only difference with my tank is i want it to be a community tank and not a predator tank. Ill have more pictures up in a few weeks when it is seeded. until then, ill be staring at my new rock work for new signs of life

If you haven't already get a frozen shrimp and put it in some mesh stocking hanging in the tank that will get your cycle going. Test your water for amm., nitrite, and nitrate every couple of days (keep a log) until you get your amm & nitrite spike, remove the shrimp. Then test every week after until you have no amm. and nitrite and <20 ppm nitrate. Should take 4-6wks you'll be ready to add one fish every other week. Now while your waiting and watching your empty tank go thru it's algae blooms you should be reading and researching and deciding on what you'll want to have in your tank. Welcome to the salty side young Skywalker.;D;D
