Well, I'm sorry to say we have had our first casualty

We lost our torch. It started going down hill a couple of weeks ago & it never recovered.

Thanks to those of you who offered suggestions - I followed your advice the best I could. Maybe I just wasn't ready for one......

Don't be hard on yourself. I am sure it wasn't because you weren't ready for one. They aren't too challenging but some heads are just not destined for greatness. Jump back on the horse and I am sure you will find that the next torch you get will be with you for a long time.

Say Julie, next time, if all else seems to be failing, ask your LFS if they would try and revive it for you. Mine (2 or 3 of them) will usually take in sick corals to try and nurse them back to health and if they succeed some give you the option of leaving it and give some reduced credit toward something else you may feel more comfortable with.

My LFS does exactly that. Great place. It's a win, win situation. Sorry for your loss. I would try again. If you like the torch.....get another one.

Thanks for your kind words, guys - I appreciate it.

Unclejed & pharmrjohn - thanks for the idea of having my lfs nursing my corals back to health - I never would have thought of that.
