Hope everyone had a nice memorial day weekend. so I have added a Fire Shrimp and 2 Duncan corals to the tank. Took almost 3 hours on each for drip acclimation in separate buckets. My question is the frags I attached to my live rock are white at the base and some of the epoxy is seen from the edges I used to attach it with. Will Purple coralline algae eventually grow over this in time? Only because the corals look beautiful but the white frag base just stands out on a purple live rock lol. Also after I gently acclimated and added the blood fire shrimp to the rocks he crawled behind them out of sight and I haven’t seen him since. Only bee about 12 hours. Do these guys come out near the rocks to be seen eventually? They are beautiful id love to see and appreciate him from time to time.

The shrimp usually hide but mine always came out for feeding. As for the frag, eventually algae will cover it, some people wait for the coral to attach to the rock and then cut the frag base off. I personally haven't had much experience with the small frags so I'm not sure what the easiest method would be.

Pretty much already stated, but Blood Reds can be very shy, especially when first introduced. You should definitely see him in a day or two at feeding time though. A lot of times shrimp will molt as soon as they get into a new tank, and so will hide for a day or two during this period anyways.

And for the frags, I am letting the corals overgrow the frags for the most part. Otherwise, in a few months they will be covered with algae, coralline, etc anyways.
