I hear ya. That's why there's a rock laying off to the left against the glass in the pick. Aiptasia had to get nuked with the juice before we add it back to the stack;)

If you're willing to take it slowly, why not buy all dry base rock. It's going to become live rock anyway, and it's a fraction of the price.
The only disadvantage I see is the time factor. With base rock, you have zero chance of hitchikers like pistol shrimp or aptasia. Base rock is cheap. With no die off, you'll experience no clouding, and no spikes in ammonia, so none either in nitrites or nitrates.

You have to pick what's right for you.

Good luck whatever you choose to do. :)

Thats exactly what my thoughts are. The tank is still young (early May start), and I dont see us adding anything serious anytime soon (at least another 6-8 months), easily far enough away that all the base rock would be fully taken over anyhow. Plus, we have a pretty good amount of live stuff in there anyways for a 40 gal (50lbs sand and 30 rock, all with all sorts of neat little creatures), I just think it would be safer with the base and less work with the base.
I am going to go very slow. After adding an anenome too soon that died and nearly took my whole tank with it; slow slow slow;)

Wow, youre right! We had no idea, but I just did some more research and found out! She was sold as a regular naso. Seems like a steal now (got her for 39.99)! We had no idea she was a rarer breed of naso. This is ultra cool!;D;D;D

yeah I want a Lopezi tang for my 90g, I'd get a naso but I don't have room for a bigger tank than this in my current house when I get a new place built in a few years I'm going to setup at least a 220g just dont tell the wife I said that :)

Blonde naso's are easily one of my top 5 favorite fish great personality and beautiful fish
I have a friend with a Lopezi though and it will literally come sit in your hand if you put a cupped hand in the water it just swims right up and sits there, absolutely great fish
