First ever tank setup

    well i know a couple of friends who are into this saltwater hobby, so with there help, i jumped in. i know its no where near any of your guys tanks but its a start. my plan was todo this with as little money spent out of pocket as possiable,(some say its impossiable), but I kept it to as much as DIY as i could.

    55 gallon tank
    20lbs of live rock
    60lbs. of live sand
    425gph power head
    marineland emperor 400 filter

    i built the stand myself and the cover aswell
    also did all my own custom lighting for my T8 bulbs and led moonlights.

    (i need a background to hide all the nasty wires

    right now i got 5 blue green chromis in there, the tanks almost done cycling, i cant wait!

    instead of a back ground paint the back black! OR better yet, get a sump!

    Welcome. Glad you got in to the hobby. One thing to remember to take it slow. You can do a lot of DIY projects, and can find good used items for a good price. :) Keep us posted.
