Hey so this is my first post and my first time with SW. I just finished the setup on my 135 discus tank and it looks sweet so it's time to start the 40 breeder SW setup. So here's my ideas and what I have any advice on set up or stocking I'd love the help.
    Tank - 40 breeder
    Filter- Emp 400
    Heater -jag 150w
    Power head - 1 Hydro 425 gph
Light - 24 inch Marineland double bright LED
    API saltwater test kit.

All this I have set up and ready for water.
I ordered last night 35 pounds of base rock and 40 pounds of sand from reef rocks.net. It should be in Wednesday it's already shipped. After I get it in and water going I'll add 10-20 lbs of live rock.

As for stocking heres the list I have in mind
2- Occ or Perc clowns ( of course)
1- Goby/Shrimp combo (love these guys)
1-2 fire fish not sure if red or purple or one of each
1-dwarf angle haven't decided on a style yet
Cuc I'll talk to reef cleaners.com

So these are my plans so far I plan on upgrading the lights ASAP and adding another power head. No corals planned as of yet but we'll see if that last on down the road. So let me know what y'all think.

Sounds good so far. Wouldn't hurt to start thinking about a skimmer, I know that it is only a fowlr tank but you will probably at some point add some softies and the addiction begins, lol. You want to make sure you have some type of top for the tank (look for net type top diy thread) if you plan on any type of firefish, they jump!

Sounds like a nice and simple set up. Have you thought about any of the Flasher Wrasses. Also for a top, I bought a sheet of 1/4" acrylic and cut it to size to sit on top of the trim. Keeps fish and evaporation in the tank.

I've thought about a skimmer but that will be on down the road after I get it good and established I plan on leaving room for a hob skimmer if I get to that point. I've never really looked into the flasher warresses can I add them with this stock list or will they be instead of something I've got listed.

Okay quick update I got the sand and dry rock from reefrocks.net in and put in the tank this is great rock and great company very fast shipping and very little rubble. Ive added about half the water Ill finish filling it up Monday and hopefully add a few pieces of live rock to really get things going. I also decided that im gonna add another power head I want more movement than the little 425gph is making im thinking about adding a 750gph to the other side of the tank. So here are a few pics and a couple of my discus tank as well.
