Well.. all the fish in the tank died after a bout of what I believe was ich.

In the last couple of months (the tank was empty short of algae and snails/crabs for a few months), I've repopulated the tank, so I figured I'd keep you guys up to date. Sorry for the crappy photos. My camera sucks. The tank isn't half as green as it looks (although there are still some remnants of a green hair algae outbreak on some rocks).

The first fish I got was a foxface, which had been in the LFS's display tank for 8 months. Very skittish fish.. but helps with green hair algae and is quite hardy. I guess things are never boring with that schizo in the tank either.

I couldn't go past another Harlequin Tuskfish.. I like their dopey personality. The new one is a bit smaller, and isn't as friendly as the old one, but it's still cool.

I also thought I'd try my first anenome, as water conditions have been stable lately. I got a orange based hepatus malu (sp). I'm guessing it's bleached and probably going to die.. but the LFS guy ensured me that it was normal to look like that when it's been introduced to a tank. I bought it against my insticts.. but so far so good.

I got a juv orange spot tang also. It looks pretty boring at the moment, but I like their adult colours.

And last but not least, while I was going to get a bicolor cleaner wrasse (the shop couldn't end up getting it in), I ended up going for this odd little wrasse, the Southern Tubelip (Labropsis australis). He hides a lot and I haven't managed to get a good photo yet. There doesn't seem to be a lot of info around on keeping these things, other than the fact that they eat coral (doh). It took a few bites out of one of my soft corals the first day it arrived, but has left everything alone since then. The face kind of looks like a dog.

The LFS I go to (Fantastic Fins in Lilydale) sold me the tang for $40, tuskfish for $55, anenome for $40 and the wrasse for $45. (all Australian dollars).

The first tuskfish from the original pics cost $90 from another LFS (but was about 50% bigger).

Note that they had to order in the specific fish I want, and they said that prices fluctuate from week to week.

I'm not sure if you're referring to my original post or my new one.. but the tank is finished cycling (it's about 6 months old now).

As far as tusk fish jumping.. really?? As in an inch or 2 above the water? I kinda doubt the dopey bastard would be able to lift itself out of the water that far (it often pops it's head out.. but doesn't seem to be able to get more than that out). My old one did the same thing, but I never saw it lift more than 1/4 of it's body out of the water (and it never went carpet surfing).
