Hey guys, thanks for taking the time to read my post!

I have had a freshwater tank for a year and a half now. I've decided to move on to a FOWLR tank. I will be instant cycling my 65 gallon aquarium using a friends live rocks, filter, filter media, and sand. I will be seeding base rock aswell. I was wondering if my dream fish stock would be overstocking. I WILL ALSO BE UPGRADING TO A 90 GALLON THIS CHRISTMAS. But I would still like to know if its overstocked in a 65 gallon, and if it is overstocked in there, what about in a 90 gallon?

    The filter are:
    Emperor 400
    Emperor 280
    Eheim 2217 x2

    The fish are:
    Oceallaris clownfish x2
    Valentini pufferfish
    Snowflake eel
    Lawnmower blenny
Banggai cardinal x2 Red spot cardinal x4
    Green chromis x2
    Firefish goby x2
    Anthias x2
    Turbo snails
    Narcissus snails

HOLY COW, 14 fish in a 65 gallon is definitely overstocking. Also there is no such thing as "Instant cycling", you can seed the tank as you are talking about, but this only HELPS the cycle. You are still looking at probably a minimum of 4 weeks.

I think it might be a bit much for a 90 gallon to.

    Oceallaris clownfish x2
    Valentini pufferfish
    Snowflake eel
    Lawnmower blenny
    Red spot cardinal x4
    Green chromis
    Firefish goby
    Bartlett's Anthias

Thats still 12 fish. I dont think you can keep a snowflake eel in that size tank. I just setup a 65 gallon, and my stocking list is going to be around 5 maybe 6 fish. Saltwater stocking ratios are alot less than freshwater.

I'd recommend you drop the eel and puffer. I know they're beautiful fish, but they don't make good tankmates in a peaceful community tank with smaller, more docile species. You'll also have trouble keeping any shrimp or crabs with either of them around. They would be more suitable in a predator tank.

Oh okay thank you for the reply, I think Im just going to stick with

    Oceallaris clownfish x2
    Valentini pufferfish
    Lawnmower blenny
    Green chromis
    Firefish goby
    Bartlett's Anthias

I think 2 Eheim 2217 plus the Emp 400 and Emp 280 would allow this stock.
