Gone for the weekend so the project is delayed. Did manage to pick up a 250w halide light this morning though :)

Did the major swap today, here are some of the early pictures.

    New bedding for the 90g

90g on the stand with the inhabitants of the old tank + my live rock scattered about. There's a lot more in there than this picture shows, about 75ish pounds.

Tomorrow the old tank (50g) is transformed into a fuge/sump, it's drying out right now. In addition to this I will be picking up about 50-60 more lbs of live rock, a lot more RO/DI water, and a new bulb for my halide fixture :)

Glue is finished curing, water is going to be added to the fuge tomorrow.

Only problem so far has been the CPR overflow unit, fitting on the bottom leaked around the housing so after it spilled a gallon or so on my floor I got it off and decided to silicon seal the entire flange area instead of relying on CPR's gasket. (Pics coming).

    looks good so far.
Only thing i would be worried about is the stand. are you sure that will hold the tank up? i see no supports directly under the tank?

It does look a bit on the flimsy side. How are those legs attached to the top?

Well that top board is about a 5 inch thick piece. Legs are attached with 1/8 inch steal brackets that surround 3 sides 2 bolts in each . I'm not all that worried about it, feels solid and is built out of quite a bit bigger pieces than any stand I've seen. Tank just looks big on their cause it's footprint is about an inch over the front and back.

The tanks roughly 1000lbs and it's weight is distributed across the table top so I dont really see it snapping that board in half anywhere across it, especially with the cross members across the bottom. The only thing I was initially worried about was tipping over from a quake or something but it is banded to the wall so it cant.

It's been sitting full now for a couple days. No signs/sounds of failure or movement anywhere in the construction.

Do you mean your tank overhangs the stand on the front and back by an inch? That isn't good for your tank in the long run. The bottom should be supported 100%, it isn't designed to overhang the stand. Its ultimately up to you since its your tank, but that's a risk I wouldn't take if it were my tank.

No it is 100% supported, that's the point of that addition to the top of the stand. I'll take some better pics, I think maybe the angle of the previous one is a little deceptive.

the tank is not supported by the peice of wood you put down. its going to have to much pressure on the corners as it is now in my opinion.

Well the bedding is bracketed along the front and back prior to setting the tank on the table. The brackets dont allow the wood to flex so the weight is resting against the wood and supports. It's supported.

Just wondering, so what you're saying is despite the fact the tank is sitting flat on all corners of the bedding, that it is actually providing no support and may as well just be hanging over the edge of the table with no additional piece?

I do appreciate all the criticism but I'm going to have to disagree.
