Hello all. I just joined. I have been reading post from this site for awhile now, and I just decided to join.

I have kept a few freshwater aquariums before, and my brother's gorgeous reef tank has made me decide I want one too. I have no experience in this other than what he has shared, and all the research I have done over the past month. I bought an oceanic biocube 29 gallon for $40. I also have an old 29 gallon aquarium. I am planning on using the biocube as my display, and adding the 29 gallon glass tank as a sump with fuge. I want to have two clowns, a CUC, and some kind of bottom dwelling goby. For corals I want to do mostly acans, with some soft corals mixed in.

I was wondering if I keep things lightly stocked, will this provide a newbie like me enough stability to maintain a healthy tank? I haven't set anything up yet, so this would be the best time for advice. I am really nervous, and I would hate to put any poor animal in my tank unless it's going to be healthy for them. Thanks in advance for the help.

I always agree to a lightly stocked tank! I think this is a great idea. More fish, more troubles. I think a good thread for you is Biocubes tank thread. He has done a phenomenal job with sorta the same plan you have. Its under tank show off threads.

Yes this is absolutely what you should do. There is a saying for this: Go slow, let it grow ;)
