    Hello,

My name is Zach, and this is my first time having a saltwater aquarium. In the past I have had many freshwater tanks including cichlids. I live in Haslet, TX and my fiancé and I just bought our first home, so we decided to set up a new saltwater tank. It is a 55 gallon marineland with tempered glass ( I know now in the future not to buy tempered glass lol) I have two Maxi-Jet 1200 for circulation, and an Eshopps WD75CS with a mag5 return for my wet/dry filtration. Soon, I plan on adding a Bak-pak2 skimmer, but not until after I let the tank cycle for the next month or so.

Here's a pic of the tank.

Welcome to the addiction! Congrats on the tank and the house, this site is a great place to learn about the hobby. Do you know if you are going to go for a reef set up or a fish only system?

Right now it's going to be fish only , but I will slowly add live rock and eventually I would like to add some coral to it. I have a Coralife light fixture with 2x65w actinic bulbs and 2x65 fluorescent bulbs so I think I will be able to sustain coral, but I don't know much about coral.
